An intensive vertical dance* journey for gravity-defying bodies<\/em><\/p>

with Marianna Andrigo | Vertical Waves Project<\/p>

<\/strong><\/p>

This is meant to be a movement along the horizon line, not just as a point of contact between sky and earth, but as a motion towards physical, emotional, and poetic perspectives. Vertical dance brings the feet along a wall, altering and expanding our perception of void and gravity.<\/p>

The workshop suspends meetings in which the practice is intended as a stimulus to train one’s bodily nature towards attitudes of freedom, interconnection, and athleticism.<\/p>

The practice takes place a few meters off the ground, preceding the vertical practice experience with ground-based preparation.<\/p>

This year, we offer a two-day intensive session on October 26 and 27, which can be attended separately from the full course beginning on November 16, culminating in a final performance on April 4.<\/p>

The intensive weekend is designed as an opportunity to meet and get to know each other through the actions and language of the company; the full course is intended to refine, create, and connect around shared visions built upon our individual natures.<\/p>

Workshop Schedule<\/strong><\/p>

Intensive weekend: Saturday, October 26, from 2 PM to 7 PM, and Sunday, October 27, from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Saturday, November 16, from 2 PM to 7 PM
Friday, December 20, from 2 PM to 7 PM
Saturday, January 18, from 2 PM to 7 PM
Saturday, February 8, from 2 PM to 7 PM
Saturday, March 15, from 2 PM to 7 PM
Friday, April 4: meeting from 2 PM to 7 PM and final performance.<\/p>

The workshop is open to those with movement experience, even if they have no experience in vertical dance.
You can register for both the intensive and the full course, or attend the intensive weekend and then register for the full course later.
Attendance at all scheduled sessions is required to follow the full course.<\/p>

AICS membership costs \u20ac20 and is valid for 365 days from the issue date.
Full course (30 hours) from November 16 to April 4: \u20ac300 plus membership fee (payable in 3 installments).

<\/p>

Marianna Andrigo | Vertical Waves Project<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Marianna encountered vertical dance in 2002. Her artistic journey is rooted in a constant exploration of the performative body, experienced both in ground-based practices and in aerial dimensions. Her political studies, philosophical interests, and Eastern practices fuel the questions that guide her work, spanning composition, performance, curation, teaching, and the creation of projects that intertwine body, thought, and community. Vertical Waves was founded by her in 2010, and the company creates performances for architecture and open spaces.

<\/p>

*Vertical dance uses the wall as the floor, positioning the performer in a perpendicular relationship to the vertical plane. It involves a new orientation and the engagement of muscles that support the spine\u2019s efforts. Suspended off the ground, it allows an exploration of the void, where the performer finds new orientations and inevitably inhabits the relationships between the body’s different weights. The performer wears a harness with a descender, a tool that anchors them to a working rope: with this equipment, a crucial relationship of trust is established, allowing the performer to free their dance and, with experience, dare to reach new heights!<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
