Crossing Horizons | Performance Practices and Rehearsal Techniques<\/i><\/b><\/p>

Open Call for Performing Arts Practitioners<\/i><\/b><\/p>

Vertical Waves Project dance company is launching an international open call addressed to performing arts practitioners to participate at Crossing Horizons | Performance Practices and Rehearsal Techniques, the first campus organized by the company and consisting of five immersive days focusing on the cornerstones of different performance practices and rehearsal techniques.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Taking into account the continuous contamination between forms, spaces, time, and aesthetics, Crossing Horizons | Performance Practices and Rehearsal Techniques aims to explore performing arts methods even when they expand in duration, thus transforming the relationship between the performer and the gravitational landscapes where a performance occurs.<\/span><\/p>

Sharing actions and live images that can be embedded into one’s creative path as research tools, we will investigate the convergence between different performance styles and languages to bring to light the prerequisites for a genuine, intense, and accessible practice.<\/span><\/p>

The five days will be dedicated to digging into the kinetic functions of body systems and kinetic resistance and training in imaginative conditions and on different support surfaces, hence understanding their relationship with the vertical dimension and the void.<\/span><\/p>

Who Is This Call Intended For?<\/i><\/b><\/p>

Crossing Horizons | Performance Practices and Rehearsal Techniques is intended for dancers, performers, body artists, experimental artists and researchers with experience in dance, theatre, choreography, live art, performance art, and body-based performance practices.<\/span><\/p>

450 \u20ac <\/span>
<\/span>400 \u20ac if you apply before September 3rd 2025 \/ if you are under 26 \/ if you live in Veneto Region<\/span><\/p>

The fee includes activities from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. for 5 days; snacks for lunch break; insurance.<\/span><\/p>

If you need accommodation from 13th to 20th, it\u2019s possible for 90\u20ac per person in sharing rooms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Vertical Wave Project<\/b><\/p>

Born in 2010 and based in Venezia Mestre, the company is directed by the artistic duo Andrigo and Aliprandi. Over time, the project has involved performers and dancers who are now part of the company. Their work combines bodily and choreographic research with the technical skills of working at height using ropes. Their performances investigate the conditions of duration, resistance, composition in real time, and unconventional spaces. Their language delves into the dance, philosophy, ethics, and aesthetics of the present.<\/span>
