Our Training Journey at École Nationale de Cirque Shems’y in Salé

We are excited to share our artistic journey at the École Nationale de Cirque Shems’y in Salé, in collaboration with the Sarabanda Association from Genoa and the Epifania project. Together with Boris Vecchio, creator and director, and the Eventi Verticali team, we have introduced vertical dance both at the school in Salé and at the Centre Kan Ya Makan Rdda in Fez.

This formative experience is part of the educational principle adopted by the school, which involves alternating between periods of training and professional performances as performers and in the technical department. This approach allows students to explore different facets of the circus profession, confronting the realities of the trade and understanding the importance of a shared project for individual development.

We worked closely with the students to prepare them for the Epifania show, which was presented at the Biennale des Arts du Cirque et du Voyage KARACENA 2024 – an edition dedicated to the theme “L’avenir va à venir.”

Karacena is much more than a circus event. This biennale represents a dynamic and multicultural platform that hosts a wide range of artistic disciplines. From big top shows to urban interventions, from collective presentations to individual performances, the event celebrates the fusion between choreographic movement and spectacular skills.

The performances bring together artists from various cultural backgrounds, creating a rich artistic tapestry.

Our participation in the Biennale KARACENA 2024 allows us to explore new forms of artistic expression, engaging emerging talents with a forward-looking perspective on the future of the performing arts.
